The WorldatWork 2018-2019 Salary Budget Survey has been released. This report is used by most large companies to build their compensation (2019) plans. It is reporting that salary increases will move from 3.1% in 2018 to 3.2% in 2019. The increase is not keeping up with inflation, nor the increasing demand for talent. This is fundamentally different than the Aviation space where we are seeing annual increases regularly about 6%.
Articulating the value of Business Aviation and proactively aligning compensation plans for aviation professionals will require a strong business case to be heard against the backdrop of this report. We are encouraging Aviation leaders to schedule regular meetings with their HR generalist and compensation partners to build the credibility before next years compensation conversation. Human Resources is going to be thinking in this 3% range and most likely your Aviation leader is going to be asking for 6% or more.
